Easy tool for character animation

For my product demo I’m starting thinking how to add some characters in the scene. Nothing realistic just a puppet but with the need to perform some custom movements.
A couple of years ago I messed around with Daz3d and I did find it hard to work with, Mixamo appear to be expensive, was looking at Mosketch or the upcoming Cascadeur, want to know if there are other suggestions as beginner with very limited time.

Would also depend on your budget i assume.

My understanding is that mocap with Kinect 2.0 and sdk can give you "okayish " animations, meaning you might have to edit them afterwards. You’ll need the adapter for it for pc as well. Expect a cost of anywhere from $40-100 for the Kinect 2.0 and adapter if you choose that route.

I’ve looked at alright rig 2.0 from the marketplace and watched some tutorials on YouTube. It looks decent, efficient and fast. I think it’s $110

Though I’m not sure anything beats manual animation. Especially if you already know how. Except maybe exclusive software and hardware from other developing companies.

Thanks @aandril
I have a Kinect 2.0 with PC interface, problem is appear my USB controller it’s not one of the two supported (Intel and Renesas) so no luck in using it.

Apart from that my concern is the huge manual work and specialization needed to customize even basic movements.

Looking at rig 2.0 €100 it’s ok, but as beginner I didn’t see some simplification in the animation process.

I find Mosketch in the direction I was thinking, just paint the movement and the sw will move the character for you.
Still I didn’t find it easy enough, maybe I’m just expecting something impossible.
