earlier versions?

Hello.

Why are some versions of the engine no longer available on the Epic Launcher? For reasons out of my control I cannot install 4.9.1 where I work and are locked into 4.8.2 or 4.7 for the year, but would like to be able to install 4.8. Neither it nor 4.7 are available to ‘Add Version’ from the launcher. Are they available elsewhere to download instead?

Secondly, I have 4.8.3 on one machine. when trying to open the project in 4.8.2, on another machine, it throws up a warning that the project is newer than the version available and wont automatically open the level file. That much is true; it is a newer version. However, it is not possible to install specific sub-revisions (or whatever the terminology is?). So, are they not compatible? I’d assume that version numbers would not be compatible or, at least, may have revised nodes and workflows, but sub-revisions?

Thank you.

Neil

In the launcher you can just see the latest one of the version that they released (4.8.x, 4.9.x,…) You could downgrade the engine versions with the source engine -> https://answers.unrealengine/questions/92798/how-to-downgrade-from-441-to-44.html
