E57 Lidar Point Cloud Plugin

I’m , I’m an R&D engineer at a company called OR3D. We’ve been using the Lidar Point Cloud plugin to develop an application.

We use the E57 format primarily, however, around half of the time when we import the point cloud, the Lidar uasset has no points within it. One of my colleagues has said it’s probably because the E57 is structured, since all of the E57s that are unstructured seem to work fine.

Although, it’s quite important that E57s consistently work in our application, so I was wondering if there was anything I could do so that all types of E57 work?

Are you importing the point cloud in runtime or you compile the application with a known point cloud ?

I do have the same error with the import of the E57 Point Clouds, you can use the RCP format on which the points are visible.
But in exchange you lose the possibility of interacting with the lidar point.

What would be the difference ?
