e57 file does not get importet in RealityCapture

Hi there,

I am sorry if that is a stupid question. I am fairly new to RealityCapture. I already googled a bit but couldn’t really find an answer so hopefully someone can help

I got a e57 File which is a cut out from a big point cloud file. It comes with panorama pictures and one TLS/GLB position what I can see with CloudCompare.

As seen in this picture, the point cloud works well in CloudCompare. The orientation, scaling and intensity should be right to work with RealityCapture what I found out.

There is also a TLS/GLB position within the e57 file, but this position is pretty far away as you can see in the picture below:

I am trying to figure out what causes the problem so it cannot be loaded into RealityCapture. Is it this one far away TLS position? If so, is there a possibitlity to change it and make it work?

What else could be the problem?

Hi Patrick,
I suppose that far away TLS is causing your issue. You need to correct it in the application where the point cloud was processed, as RealityCapture needs that information.
This could be also related to one bug, which will be solved in the next release, but hard to say without testing the file.
What kind of scanner was used to capture the data? How the point cloud was processed?
