First vacation in years was to E3 in LA. Met some developers and got inside scoops on some games and more. Awesome week. What games are you guys excited for?
I’ve always wanted to attend E3. People tell me though it isn’t as good in person because of long lines and big crowds. Plus you don’t get to see all of the presentations. What do you think, is it worth going out too? Do you get to meet developers who worked on AAA titles?
You’d probably like GDC better, not as crowded and it’s full of developers. If you want to play games there’s more of that at E3 but it’s more crowded so you won’t get the chance to play as much. There are tons of developers though, since it’s primarily for developers. They’ll often have developers working the booths and helping people with the demos.
Yeah GDC or Devcom(If you live in europe) are way better. E3 is just Press only, more or less.
The lines were long I will agree. I went to all 3 days, and the lines were quicker on the first day. The other 2 days, depending on what you wanted to play you would have to be there first. Games like COD because they would have bigger lines and reach cap fast. KH3 was at cap all 3 days. And other games were like 20-45min wait because of the demo time. It’s based off the popularity of the game. There were meetings you could attend at the LA Live theatre that were 30-45min long, Rare was there, Bethesda had one, Hideo Kojima did one plus more. They talked about their projects and also had short Q&A. So it depends on what you’re going for. I enjoyed it and will probably go again. I really want to attend GDC as well. That’s next on my list to try and get to.
i never get to go to any of these game events, cause i’m broke as ■■■■… kinda a bit jealous of people who get to go… would love to go… even once… not even to show my game… just to see what it’s like…
That’s basically why I went to E3. I always wanted to go and experience it. That was the first expo I have ever gone too. It was fun.
I’m excited about the Ghost of Tsushima and Fallout 76.
