Dynamic wet materials

A blog post on a test scene I made to play around with dynamic materials a bit more, that some of you might be interested in :slight_smile:

All the textures are made procedurally in Modo.
I don’t really intend to do anything with it, but I’ll probably use this sort of approach in other scenes at some point…

very cool, textures look good wet. There was a neat example in an unreal3 materials scene, water actually would flow up and down through the cracks in the stone, where the water level changes made it feel like it was flowing, probably just a sine wave. Whats nice about yours it it feels wet after that water goes away.

Yeah, I’ve got a very subtle sine wave in there multiply over the top, so it might be pretty similar!
It’s hard to see in the video, because I somehow managed to break it, and upload it to youtube in really low res… Not sure how I keep managing that :stuck_out_tongue:
