Dynamic Shadows disappear on low settings, look ugly on medium

Hello.

I just realized today that Dynamic Shadows disappear on low “Shadows” quality settings, and look really ugly on medium settings. The project / map has “forced no precomputed lighting”, “allow static lighting” disabled and all lights set to movable.

I attached these images, from Shadows settings high > medium > low.

I understand that medium and low settings should look “ugly”, but I don’t understand why Dynamic Shadows disappear completely on low settings (no matter the light settings) …

I also think it’s confusing for players, if I just use the engine quality settings in my games Visual Quality settings menu → because you would expect shadows to look the most ugly on low settings, but not disappear completely.
So I would have to actually use Medium settings, when the player choses “low shadow settings” in my games visual settings menu… I feel this is not the right way to do it hmm

And yes, I am aware the meshes itself are shadowed, but there is no shadows from other meshes. So if someone more knowledgable could explain this to me maybe, or tell me a workaround to actually have dynamic shadows on low settings?

Cheers, and thanks in advance!

Quality presets is something that you can adjust
