Dynamic Shadow Distance on Translucent Materials

I’m having a problem with Cascaded Shadow Maps. To me it looks like settings above the default 20000 for Dynamic Shadow Distance MovableLight do not increase the distance dynamic shadows are visible on translucent materials.
I.e. if a value like 40000 is entered the distance for dynamic shadows on opaque materials increases as expected, but on translucent materials the distance is somehow still stuck at 20000 (lower values are working).

Not sure if this is a bug, or on purpose…
