Dying Light inspired room environment

Hi guys. This is the first environment I created inside UE4. I like the mood and theme of Dying Light because it gives that chilling, lonely feeling just like Metro Series. Had a lot of fun doing this environment. Lighting and playing with post-processing was a fun part. All the modeling, texturing, materials and lighting is done by myself and sorry I know I am posting it late here.

This was concept art I used,

Greetings @Mayurhedau45 !

Your room is exquisite! You’ve done an amazing job modeling, texturing, creating the materials, and arranging the lighting! There are so many assets here and small details, it looks like this would’ve taken months to complete! How long did it take you to finish?

I’m not familiar with the game Dying Light, but after watching the trailers for DL and DL2 - now I want to play!

When I first saw your project, I immediately thought of this:

Lol, haha, thanks. Yeah It looked quite challenging at first because there were a lot of assets to model and texture. But I went step by step. Made list of materials, unique bake assets, trim sheet asset. Did block out phase, used placeholder gray boxes, changed them will finished assets. Kept tweaking Lighting and post-processing when scene was looking a little off. It took me 2 and half months to complete the scene from start to finish. Sometimes you feel frustrated, it feels like why you took such big complex scene. You just have to keep going. Took some rest, got away for the scene and came back with fresh mindset and things started to work.

You’re quite welcome @Mayurhedau45 !

You gave me such an unexpected surprise! Thank you so much for revealing the details of your process. Two and a half months is quite the commitment, and I am happy you found the determination to continue with your project even though you came across some challenges.

If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you. I’m sure you learned a lot with this undertaking, and you will carry those lessons very well into your next project!

Cheers!

Im absolutely in love with the dead island and dying light series. Ive decided to start working on a short game similar to dying light obviously being a 1man team it wont be as detailed but im currently working on it, just taking a break from the UI design because ive been at it for like 8 hours now. Of and on. The room you made looks amazing. I could see this room being in one of their games. Congrats on being so awesome maybe you should make a video explaining your process of making these rooms cuz it looks awesome.

Hi there @Mayurhedau45 !

Rooms like this are so cool! I saw this topic had an updated post so I was glad I clicked it. They’re always the rooms I spend the most time in game-wise because I’m one of the lore heads who must see everything, haha.

If I may ask, how did you decide to put your board together? When making boards similar to that I always fear I’ll overcrowd or not include enough and I just wanted to know if you had a specific process.
