DX lens on FX camera body--does it cause issues?

For scanning lately i’ve been using a DX lens on my FX body camera (due to this particular lens’ f/38 capabilities) and got to wondering if the crop factor of the lens is negatively affecting my model results, or is this something that RC accounts for, based on the metadata?

Visually I haven’t noticed any issues but I do recall reading that cropping photos at all screws up the lens distortion correction in RC, so got to wondering if this DX/FX combo could present issues.

Having asked that, if I want to keep using this lens, should I leave off the autocrop in my camera (even if that means there’s a huge cirular border in every picture)?

Hello Justin. Could you please share a small dataset with this lens/camera combination? If you are not comfortable sharing publicly you could send us the link for the dataset via our contact form on our website. Thank you.

sure.  by “dataset” do you mean an RC scene?  or just the alignment component?

The images with metadata will be enough. Thank you Justin.
