Duplicating assets moves them in the x-y axis [UE5]

Duplicating with Ctrl+D moves each new object in the xy axis by 10 units when the grid snap is active.
Alt+Drag works fine.

Any tips on how to fix this?

are you trying to duplicate objects to the z axis? not to sure what your question is here.

Hello !

In unreal when you duplicate with Ctrl+D that always happens, I guess it’s so you can easily select the duplicate object.

I don’t know of any “solution” because it’s not an issue as such, but if what you want is to have X objects in exactly the same place you can:

  • Select the object what you want to be duplicated X times
  • If you Right Click in “Location” you can “Copy” the location
    image
  • Duplicate the object X times, it doesn’t matter if the duplicated ones move
  • Last, select all the duplicates, and in “Location” right click and “Paste”

Now you have all the assets in the exact same place.

I hope it helps you!

You need to turn off grid snapping then it will duplicate in place.
