Dual GPU only utilising 10% of second A6000

I have dual A6000 GPU’s installed with an SLI bridge (nvlink)

I’ve followed various setup videos, which include…

  • Activating SLI in nvidia control panel
  • Adding -MaxGPUCount=2 to a shortcut for ue5
  • Editing BaseEngine.ini to include r.AllowMultiGPUInEditor=1

That seems to have been successful, as the second GPU is being used where it wasn’t before.

But it’s not exactly being USED used

According to Task Manager, GPU0 is running at around 97%, while GPU1 is only running around 10%

I’m working on a very high fidelity project that is only getting ~12fps

Is there any way to make more use of the second GPU and improve performance?

To my knowledge, percentage of GPU usage related to VRAM usage and low percentage doesn’t mean that GPU is not using it’s all power. Correct me if I’m wrong. Besides I don’t know if Unreal 5 can seperate VRam usage to two different GPUs or not. It seems it’s not doing it right now and maybe your VRam needs not high enough to fit both.
