Players’ progression in the game can sometimes be overlooked by themselves while engaging in combat and finding ways to unlock the next level.

It is only when they looked back from where they came, did they realize they’ve already come a long way from where they begin - in this case, from being at the bottom of the sea level to the tip of a tower that is over 1 km high.
I hope you have a relaxing weekend and enjoy the game you planned to play at the weekend! d(・∀・*)♪゚
I found a useful tip on how to reduce texture size (in-engine) this week and would like to share it with the community, here is the source video
(*click the image for higher resolution*)
A prerequisite for using this method is the texture resolution needs to be a power of 2. Simply import the texture as you usually would, and select the desired resolution in the box (as depicted in the image). Noticed, not only the resolution is reduced but also the resource size of the asset is reduced - it is a fast and easy way to check oversized texture if you constantly get the texture streaming pool over maximum memory warning (like I did).
Before discovering this useful tool, I needed to save out multiple resolutions of the same texture in third party software and import them all into UE4 in case I needed a different resolution for the same mesh with a different scale, now I could do it entirely in-engine without external software!
I hope this small tip can also help make your project development a little bit smoother!
A tutorial level where the game will guide you through a series of challenges to help you become familiar with the controls; A puzzle level where you need to solve physics puzzles and engage in combat before leaving the section - giving you a taste of the actual gameplay and help you decide whether you like it or not.
Have fun and enjoy the challenges! =)
(Don’t forget to wishlist 《Drifting : Weight of Feathers》 on steam! =D)
As you might have noticed in my recent weekly updates, in terms of gameplay content 《Drifting : Weight of Feathers》 is nearly finished. The demo released last week is the first milestone before the full game release.
Regarding the remaining 6 months, I like to devote my time to create content for gamers - something less technical and easier to swallow for casual audiences. I am still contemplating on the form and the frequency of my future updates, in the meantime, I also need to get prepared for the upcoming TpGS (2021/01/28) event. Both of these tasks require some time to think through thoroughly and get prepared accordingly, which means I won’t be able to provide weekly updates for the coming months.
I will definitely update this thread after the new content is ready to go public - while you are waiting for the next update, please give the demo a try and share your honest opinion with me! =)
Thank you all for reading and sharing your thoughts on my weekly posts for the past 2 years, it’s been a wonderful journey to talk with so many fellow indie developers!
Wish we all have an awesome 2021 and a wonderful weekend! ヽ(´∀`。)ノ
《Drifting : Weight of Feathers》 Opening Cinematic - Target Eliminated
Hello, everyone!

Following the cinematic opening, the identity of our female protagonist has finally revealed - a wanted criminal of the Milky Way galaxy pursued by Interstellar-Empire. During an encounter with a troop of Interstellar-Empire on planet BlueStar, she accidentally (or was tricked into) activates the planet-destruction-procedure, now she needs to avoid her pursuers AND not get killed by an exploding planet!
The adventure of Faye (your character) begins after she was defeated and fell into a hallway ruin. Be prepared to face more enemies from Interstellar-Empire after they learned of your whereabouts and practice your Exos-Arms to traverse the ocean engulfed planet BlueStar!

The end of 2021 is approaching and so is the release date of 《Drifting : Weight of Feathers》- get ready to traverse the ocean-engulfed planet Bluestar!
Does the game’s storyline explain the outfit? “Faye likes it this way!” is a fair answer - just asking… On the other hand, it’s hard not to be sold on the ‘Parkour on whale!’, I’d definitely lead with that.
Since the core idea of 《Drifting : Weight of Feathers》 is to allow players to traverse the world using grappling hook, dashing, and wall-running, those gymnastic-like movements are best showcased with a skin-tight outfit - something that could reveal her physical beauty easily.
I’ve spent quite a lot of time tweaking all her animations and I am hoping players who appreciate the gameplay could also appreciate her appearance in the game! <3
I am excited (and a little bit nervous) to announce that my game 《Drifting : Weight of Feathers》 is going to be released tomorrow (Dec. 15th, 2021 PST)!
Thank you all for following the progress of my game and giving me feedback! It’s been a long and difficult journey and I’m happy you can stay with me until the release date!
《Drifting : Weight of Feathers》 is a fast-paced, action-oriented game. The moves Faye can do are all designed around the concept of enabling players to engage in combat and puzzle-solving while on walls or in mid-air.
Before diving into the actual gameplay, I would like to kindly ask you to first browse through her move list through menu > options > move list and make sure you know how to perform all her moves - the difference between knowing only the basics and the full list of her moves has a HUGE impact on how you would approach the game!
《Drifting : Weight of Feathers》 has a steep learning curve, however, the game is by no means difficult in the traditional sense.
Feel free to join the game’s Discord if you would like to share your gameplay footage or ask around for help!
Have fun exploring the ocean-engulfed planet Bluestar and Merry Christmas! ヽ(ゝ∀・)ノ
I honestly don’t know where to begin. So, congrats on the release! Super pumped to have been able to watch your project develop and grow. It’s been such an honor to see all the passion and dedication you’ve given. Also, make sure to post a link to where we can try it out ourselves tomorrow.
Once again, best wishes for you and 《Drifting : Weight of Feathers》!
Can’t wait to play it myself!
