Drawbacks/issues of Unreal GI

Hey guys, does anyone know what exactly are the problems of current implemented non-finished GI solution in UE? I have been testing some example scenes, and i cant find any drawbacks, it all seem to run smooth and works well. What are the actual problems, that is making Epic pushing it aside?

I guess because it doesn’t look that good in interiors.

You’re talking about realtime GI ?
There isn’t a final solution for realtime.

Also you can go to the nvidia github and download their VXGI UE4 branch.

LVP is realtime isnt it? I mean i didnt do any baking in scene and it works by default.

LPV is expensive (up to 50% less fps) and it does not really work for interior because of light leaking. But apart from that, its awesome :cool:

Ah ye i did notice light leaking hm. I didnt experiance any FPS drop becouse my rig is solid but if numbers are really as high as you say in FPS drop that might be large obstracle then.
