Draw Material to Render Target not working properly

I have this Render Target of size 1024x1024

I put it in this material and applied it to a plane in the world

I’m using an Editor Utility to import a heightmap, put it in an unlit material and then Draw Material to Render Target


The heightmap imports properly and gets assigned to the heightmap material properly

But when drawn to the Render Target, this is the result every time no matter what heightmap I use. The heightmaps are also 1024x1024

Does anyone know what seems to be going wrong?

Had to use a Canvas Render Target instead as a workaround.

A small delay is required after setting the heightmap variable otherwise the canvas fails to draw the heightmap.

THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION. MERELY A WORKAROUND.
