I understand that you get new ideas. I understand you find better ways to accomplish tasks. But was it necessary to make the new third person template state machine partly read only? So that you can’t copy all that basic stuff and change what you need? Do you think 5 million game projects should just have a upgraded as the main character?
Also doing the hero player controller from scratch has caused issues like mouse rotation input not being in the list… Doing something one way for a year and then all the sudden it is not there and you get to play hide and seek for an hour is really unproductive…
I HATE hide and seek ALOT! I am a fully grown being…
I don’t really know what you are talking about, and maybe other also don’t, so if you could explain a bit more what exactly has changed what should not have changed we all can understand it better. Why is the new state machine “partly read only”? And why is it important for your game if something in a template changes?
I’m a bit confused. When you update your project to a new version, it should retain the same folder structure and your assets should not change. If this is not the case and your assets have been changed to the new template assets can you file a bug report on the answerhub at http://answers.unrealengine.com so we can assist you more in depth with this? Additionally, what steps are you taking that lead to the state machine showing you that it is read only? I’ll be happy to try to reproduce this on my end.
