I was able to get the launcher to download 4.7.1 and left it overnight but for some reason my computer is off when I woke up.Tried running the launcher and it updated then it showed unreal engine 4.7.1 please wait… after a while though it started to download 4gb again is this normal as I can see a 11.804gb on the upper right so I think that is still the remaining files to download?

The 11.804gb that you see is the amount of space that the engine version uses on your machine. Even before the installation is finished that space is set aside, although it usually isn’t updated until after the install is completed. I believe you are seeing it early because the download was stopped midway through.
You said the download continued. What was that number after the installation finished?

Ah I see. I think so that the the download stopped midway as the pc was off the next day. It started from 0% again. But I stopped the download as maybe there is a work around .
