this should work without any issues. How fast are you double clicking? Is it possible to place the pivot on another spot?

A normal double click is the same as a multiple double click

You should try just Make it like a clean install. Did you have to log in again after clean install? On this computer, is this happening just in this project or also some other projects?
Can you send me a video of this behaviour? Which version of RealityCapture are you using? Did you try reinstall the application?

Are you able to rotate the 3D view? Sometimes the pivot is not moved when the double click is too slow or too fast.
