Door Graphics leaking from the top when lit? How can i fix plz?

Hey,

I’m really trying to understand how to get around this but its bugging me. My door is leaking from the top but not the light, the graphics. How can i get this to go away? Any thoughts?
P.S: I made my own door as well and the leaking happens there 2 but just for the purpose to show i took the unreal sample door as an example.

Hey Deathscyp,

I just tested this issue on my end and did not see what you are reporting. A couple of questions which could help narrow down the source of the issue.

  • Would you provide me with your ‘dxdiag’ so I can take a look at your systems specifications?
  • What type of light are you using to illuminate the area in the image you provided?
  • What anti-aliasing method are you using in your project?

This is a unique issue for sure and could be related to your GPU or the Temporal AA method used by default.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

Cheers,

Hey Andrew

Thx for the quick reply, well I was looking into it yesterday again and found out what did that effect to my meshes. It was because I used a polished marble rock material on my ceiling . I guess the reflection from the top made that effect… weird. anyways I switched it back to something with no reflection and voila! Fixed:)
For the heck of it… In case maybe my pc is at fault also in that. here are my specs.

Windows 7 home premium 64-bit

Processor: Intel I7 CPU 870 @ 2.93Ghz(8 CPUs)

Memory: 8192MB RAM

Directx version: 11

graphics: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 660, 4037MB MEMORY , UPDATED TO DATE

spot light component

and im using also Temporal AA.

Yes that would do it, especially in conjunction with how Temporal AA and screen space reflections work in the editor. I am glad you got it fixed and appreciate the response to the information requested.

In case you come across a issue similar, and want to keep the reflective surface let me know and we can troubleshoot how to work around the issue.

Cheers,
