Domus Mortem - Cutscene built from scratch


In this cutscene, I built everything from the Voicework (all AI), to the audio (composed music and added the SFX on top), built the area in a live stream (watch it here: Domus Mortem Part 1 (UEFN livestream) | Fortnite Creative - YouTube), custom post process effect, and the script was taken from an old project of mine (this is a recreation from a 10-year-old project).

Animating the car was the most difficult part, as I had to make it look natural, while making sure it will reach the collision point at the same time as the audio (audio was made first). This was tricky to do, as every node in its path had to be tweaked with great precision or the car would speed up a lot, or slow down. I also had to make sure I orientated the car correctly so that it doesn’t drift in turns. Lastly, I remade the car so I can give it blurry rims (even though you cant see very well), and had to add a lot of different cameras to break its rigid state (its doesn’t have any moving parts).

This is the intro cutscene of a larger horror game in development, called Domus Mortem (house of Death).
