This might sound like a awful questions, but I have seen that there is quite a “few” Mocap animations over at UE Marketplace. So I was wondering if Unreal Engine does support Mocap animations? And if it does support Mocap animations, is there any plugins that I need to download or add if I want to use Mocap animations? Or is the Mocap animation support already hard coded in to support it?

Yup, sure does!
Nope! To make them yes, but to use them no, they’re just animations but spicier!

Not sure the question makes sense.
Animations are animations. They work everywhere and anywhere regardless of how they are made or captured…
What is more important is your model
And compatibility with your model.
Different bone names may need retargeting in place to get whatver you get off marketplace to work for your model.
But in anything, the compatibility of it is up to whatver you do - being its your model.
That is true, but I have noticed is that if I wanted to use animations from the website called Mixamo, then I need to get a plugin from the UE Marketplace to be able to retarget the Mixamo’s animations and the skeleton from there to retarget it to the Unreal Mannequin’s models.
So technically, even though Mixamo animations are animations too, but for me to use them and to use it on my model, I need a plugin for it. So that is why I was asking if the Mocap animation is already have a in-build support for its animation. Or if I need to do have just like for the Maximo’s animation, need to find a plugin to be able to use the Mocap animation.

If you want to use Mixamo animations you can either buy the plugin or you can use Unreal IK retargeting tool.
Beside Mixamo, consider that every mocap you’ll find on the UE marketplace are UE4 skeleton compatible, and if you need to use them on a Metahuman, you can simply use the the IK retargeting tool.
Wow! Really? I thought that I must have the Maximo plugin to be able to use it’s animation(and I did buy that plugin).
