UE5.2 was demonstrated to have created a metahuman using a iphone and 3 stills from their demonstration video.
Will this replace the current workflow of taking several images of the face, processing them in realityCapture and importing into unreal for final processing?
I suspect the demo included a Metahuman or character who was pre-created, and the only thing that was happening live during the demo was the facial animation MoCap.
I would be curious though if they were able to create the Metahuman real-time with a likeness of the actor, that would be a game changer!

It will not. The feature called Mesh to MetaHuman is still available in the plugin and does not replace the new feature called Footage to MetaHuman.
Mesh to MetaHuman allows you to turn any head mesh into a fully rigged MetaHuman. The main objective of Footage to MetaHuman is to allow you to create a MetaHuman Identity that can be used to generate animation from a shot capture for a given performer, which could be you or an actor, but if you want, you can get a custom MetaHuman from your MetaHuman Identity
