Does Snapping to a Socket no longer work in Level Editor?

I’m trying to snap a weapon (skeletal mesh) to a socket on my character mesh’s hand, and tried following the steps in this UE tutorial ( SkeletalMeshSockets | Unreal Engine Documentation ) to do “Attach To” and then choose the socket, but the weapon does not snap to that socket’s location like the tutorial says it should.

There seems to be a similar issue in UE-59094 ( Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-59094) ) but without a resolution… is this a problem that will be fixed?
