Does "Max Texture Size" also reduce package size?

I made the texture 20482048 size, but for some reason, I have to use 10241024* or 512*512 size.
I know that using “Max Texture Size” reduces rendering costs, but does it also reduce package size?

Nope. The texture is still there in the background.

If you want to reduce size for packaging, you actually have to edit the texture.

Easiest way is with a plugin

The Max Texture Size does not change the file size, but when it is packaged as an EXE file, it will be recoded and the EXE package will be reduced

I tried it many times with a clean project
