Hi, do I need to report my “revenue” of my free to play game to epic if it’s free to play and only on the Epic Games Store? And if so when do I need to report (are there specific dates)?
Hi @GalMaron
If your game is made with Unreal Engine, then you may be required to report revenue, however, if it is not made with Unreal and is Free to play, then no reporting to Epic is required.
Correct, if you are making this game free to play then reporting is not required as it is not within the Epic Game Store infrastructure. Of course, this doesn’t exempt the product from royalty fees for the use of the Unreal Engine.
The affirmation above states that, if you use Unreal Engine for creating your game and publish it on Epic Games Store, then you don’t have to pay 5% royalty fees for using Unreal Engine. Is it something that I’m missing?
I know that you owe 5% royalties if you publish on other storefronts and exceed 1.000.000$ in lifetime gross revenue
How do I report my “revenue” (which is 0$)? I saw there is a royalty form but it doesn’t let me write there 0$ revenue. Also if I understand correctly royalty report and revenue report is not the same thing(?). Is there a revenue report form?
