Music Video Creation on Mac

I have been running in circles over the last week trying to work out the best system for my needs. I’m currently locked in the Apple ecosystem producing music in Logic Pro X with a 2017 Macbook Pro which looks like it might be dying.

For my next projects, I want to use Unreal Engine/Metahumans to create a virtual band and make music videos. From tuorials, I think I’ll be dropping in existing assets for sets and Livelink stuff for animations. I also have some short film ideas that I’d like to try and produce. All the while keep in mind that about 10 people at most will ever see this.

Given the tie to Apply because of Logic, is it feasible to buy the best Mac I can afford - Maybe the Mac Mini Pro, maybe the base Mac Studio - and just live with the limitations?

Or am I going to end up with a Mac and a PC, which seems faintly ridiculous.

Or… you could buy a really nice PC, do all the UE stuff you want, and have a second hand car

Seriously though, UE is always lagging quite a long way behind on Mac, and it doesn’t look like changing. Yes, you can get 5.1 on the mac, but I see a lot of people on here who don’t have any global illumination which is, er, the whole point of Lumen. Just an example.

Just my tuppenys worth…

Thanks! That certainly puts things in perspective
