When utilizing distance matching, I understand why it’s done for stops, but why is it done for starts?
I asked this question in a discord server, and from what I understood: since you have different parameters from the Movement Component, when you change these parameters, the distance matched start animation gets “adjusted” to fit within those new settings (like acceleration, max speed, etc), so that designers have an easier time reiterating on what feels good without having to constantly keep changing the animation directly.
So is the playrate that gets adjusted from the start anim? Where does the “distance” part come into play? I feel like I’m close to it clicking but I’m just not there yet.
Also, is this why they use stride warping? So that you’re not just slowing down the playrate (which will look like slow-mo), but they also shorten the stirde on the feet to add to the effect?
