Will we ever get the ability to use distance fields and runtime virtual textures?
Yesterday I was playing around with distance fields for water ripples but even tho they worked in the editor, when I tried pushing the changes it wouldn’t let me, and gives me this error, despite distance fields being enabled by default and having access to DistanceToNearest node in the material editor.
And also, will we ever get RVT support as well as the new Displacement pin in the material editor from UE 5.3?
Both of the would be extremely useful and beneficial when it comes to making high quality worlds.
Having to do nanite displacement through the mesh properties is clunky, given the fact that you have no control over the tiling of the texture, and you have to apply changes every time.
