I was wondering if one of the lovely people at Epic would mind explaining to me why I’ve just lost 2 levels in my game?
Today, I opened up my project as per usual. No updates to my OS (MacOS Sierra) and no updates to UE4. No hardware changes (Macbook Pro 2015, 2.8 GHz, 16GB RAM), just another standard weekend where I decided to work on my game.
So you can imagine my shock and horror at finding not just 1, but 2 of my maps completely gone from said project. They are not anywhere to be found on my hard drive, yet the build_data remains.
6 months of hard work, gone in a moment for apparently no reason at all.
If this is to be the standard, then would someone please confirm this now so that I can switch game engines to something that doesn’t have a random ‘purge_data’ script hidden within it?
Has anyone else woken up one day to find their content mysteriously gone at no fault of their own or their computers?
