Display of 3D pointcloud

As I said before, I really like the general layout and presentation of the GUI.
The 3D view of the pointcloud also looks very nice, but it has one big drawback: the tiny pixels.
Because of that, I find it often hard to analyse the cloud, especially if there are more dence areas behind my area of interest or if the density is generally low. Would it be possible to represent the points larger? I think in Photoscan they are bigger and it is therefore easier to see them at close range.

Hi Götz

and have try to set the MAX POINTS DISPLAY a bit higher from 10 mil points ?
Depending on your CPU it should be ok even with 100 mil points

can find it under WORKFLOW / SETTINGS

Hi Wishgranter,

just tried it but it makes no difference whatsoever, even lowering the value to 1 million…
Do I have to restart or something?

Hi Götz

no its best value is to be “HIGH” between 10-100 points. but when have low res ( low polygon count ) model it will not help.
When you change it it should ask for model recomputation, need to confirm it…

Hello Götz,
we have full 3D rendering of big scenes on the road map for this year. The first fruits should be there in 3 months.
Thanks.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies,

my point is slightly different though.
I got enough points, although they are below 10 mil so that explains that.
In Photoshop they consist of 4 pixels, I just checked.
In RC it seems t be one main-pixel with 1-2 extras for anti-aliasing (I guess).
So it is just a matter of representation, right?
Maybe it would not be too difficult to implement a variable for that?
