A friendly warning, disable your virus scanner before launching the dev kit. Norton slaughter the install for me on first launch, so now i get to sit here for hours and reinstall that 34 gig mess again.
I didn’t have any problems while having Avira turned on
First problem is you’re using Nortons.
Second; Still thinking of a second, I’ll get back to you.
AVG gives me this: Virus found Win32/Heur, c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\ARKDevKit\Engine\Binaries\DotNET\SwarmInterface.dll and Virus found Win32/Heur, c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\ARKDevKit\Engine\Binaries\DotNET\UnrealControls.dll
This is an heuristical detection and triggered because of the behavior of the files. You should be good if you allow the behavior and if your security program elaborates kind of community based alert reduction it’ll be ignored once enough people allowed the behavior for these files.
EDIT: Also if you add an exclusion in your security program for the folder(s) involved for dev/modding you could gain some performence.
