Disable ik third person

Hello, I’m having so many problems when retargeting animations to the default third person - mainly floating above the ground.

I’d like to just disable ik as I feel this is the cause of the issue.
I’ve disconnected the control rig in animBP but my character won’t align to the floor correctly when using the standard animations.
I’ve lowered the mesh a little bit that causes my retargeted animation the then he too low.

I’d like to just be able to add animations when I need them and not have to worry about it not touching the ground.
I do t need ik, I’d like it, but I don’t need it.

How can I remove these issues? The ue4 third person retarget process worked fine for me I’d like to set it up so it works like that again.
