Hey everyone, how ya dooin.
I have created a door asset the when triggered and “e” pressed, will open/close. Problem is… when doing so the door has collision and hits the (first person) players capsule, and creates stuttering and also can at times kind of trap the player behind the door and the wall.
Soooo, brilliant me decides that this should be easy. Just inset a “setCollisionEnabled” node and switch it on/off appropriately. It does indeed work…BUT
It breaks the onOverlap (I believe), because I can go clear across the room and still trigger the event of opening and closing the door until I hit another onOverlap and trigger that one.
Does it just disable the entire root even though I tagged it as the door only?
It needs to have collision as we don’t want anyone wandering like a ghost and sailing through doors.
I can easily just avoid the door swing when I trigger it, but I know about this, but someone just coming into this world will not.
Last thing I want to do is annoy the player.
Thanks for any insight and help in this matter.
James
