There’s a huge pet peeve I’m dealing with, and that’s that sometimes (frankly too often), the Sequencer will automatically add meshes/fx tracks to itself. Is there anyway to make sure that the ONLY way a track gets added to Sequencer is by me manually adding it?
I imagine the reason this happens is because I fulfill some unknown (to me) requisite (double-clicking? dragging into scene?) that I cannot, myself, recreate.
Hello, I have the same issue here. I’ve read through all the documentation, and at the beginning of the project, there was no autotracking. However, at some point, it got activated. I can’t seem to find how to disable this function, as it’s really bothering me.
I completely forgot to post the solution I discovered here, so apologies for that.
The issue is that the “S” key is mapped to both NAVIGATION and SEQUENCER, so, you’ll need to change the Autokey Settings from “S” to something else. (Basically, any time you move the Editor Camera backward/zoom out, you’ll also add a sequence key.)
Go to Editor Settings
Go To Keyboard Shortcuts
Change the Translation key under “Sequencer” (and any others you want) to something else.
Funny I actually wasn’t using any hotkeys, I don’t really use the s key in this project, but hopefully that’s something to try, I’ll give that a go.
I also thought it might be something to do with the ‘allow all edits/ allow sequencer edits only/ allow level edits only’ setting. This seems to do some very weird unexpected things. I’ve changed it back to allow all edits and it seems to be happening a little less… possibly if you have allow sequencer edits only it doesn’t like you moving objects in the level while a sequencer is open - maybe that’s why it creates the auto track? still investigating…
This too, yes, I have made sure to change. But the hotkey was what was adding random tracks. All of a sudden my landscape and mountains were moving and I didn’t understand why.
Just be aware that even if you do not set any hotkeys, they are set by default.
The “S” key is a directional navigation key. How would you not use it!?
