DirectInputManager 0.9.1 - Add Full Force Feedback Support to your input devices

We’re happy to announce the first official release of our plugin.

DirectInput Manager is an Unreal Engine 4.1x Project Plugin that allows you to process input from any input device using Microsoft’s legacy DirectInput API.

Entirely written in C++ without any third party libraries it allows you to easily implement support for older Joysticks, Flight Sticks, Driving Wheels, etc. and to add Force Feedback effects on supported devices.

I downloaded your free Edition of the plugin and I like it very much. Do you have any plans to add an effect file load option in your plugin. We have a lot of old FFE files which we would like to implement for our flight sim Project.

Thanks for your feedback; “A load effect from file” feature is also planned. The idea is to use the microsoft ffe editor (included in DirectX 8.1 SDK) to create and edit files and to add a Blueprint function within the plugin to load the files. A save to file feature will also be included at some point.

I downloaded example. Not working. Does not define a DirectInput joystick. Xinput only. And the vibration is not working.

sadly they dont seem to support Forcefeedback and steeringwheels :confused:

I’ve downloaded free version and got engine crashed with fps template project. What should I do? Version of UE is 4.22.3

can you try to launch the engine without joystick attached? does it also crash? Do you see any errors while launching the engine in tue ue_log?

It does not crash without joystick attached. My joystick is PXN-2113PRO | PXN Racing Wheel, Game Controller, Arcade Stick for Xbox One, PS4 Switch, PC

Hello!

I am running into some issues with version 0.9.4, everything seems to be working just fine, I can map the inputs and control the car of the provided demoproject (VehicleBP), however whenever I try to play some effects on either my Thrustmaster T300 or Logitech G29 I get the following warning and nothing is played:

‘DirectInputManager_Plugin: Warning: Device DIERR_INVALIDPARAM’, anyone have a solution for this problem? I have seen videos where the G29 works so I dont think its a hardware issue.
