I've been experiencing some strange behavior when I'm working back and forth between Revit and TM (image in attachment).
After few changes in Revit, when I sync back to TM, objects get missplaced , a wall is moved or a slab is missing. It's there in Revit and I click on synchronize several times but it's not showing up. Even restarting all apps is not helping.
The only thing that works for now is to clean my temp files and re-link the entire thing, but then there is no point in direct link.
Unfortunately all of the projects in my office are non disclosure, so I was hoping that there were more experience regarding this issue besides me filing a bug report.
This isn't currently a known issue, so our team would require some additional investigation into this. I also wasn't able to reproduce the issue on my end, so we would need the affected files to proceed. If you are able to get approval to share the affected files (we do not share files outside of our support team and only use them for the purposes of resolving reported issues) that would be very helpful in finding what is causing this issue and getting it fixed.
It's good to know that you do not share files but it would need to be more than your word, since the project is government related. Also I was hoping that you would have any questions for me prior, like versions of software I am using or anything else that would help build a case.
Can you please explain what is your job here, so that I can better understand for future.
I've upgraded all my Autodesk software to 2023 (Revit, 3dsmax, etc.) and now there is no more Datasmith TAB in Revit to establish direct link and sync??
It looks like I have to install a Autodesk version of Twinmotion so that I get the new TM icon in Revit?
But I already have my Twinmotion stand alone licence why would I have to take up extra space on my PC for the revit version?
Also, with this TM for Revit I will disrupt my workflow as I am using 3ds max in the same time to get some details in my TM scene.
I understand your concerns and that your files can't be shared. Regarding my job, I provide support and assistance for Twinmotion users having issues, helping resolve issues that can be solved or logging bugs when new issues are identified.
I can attempt to try to reproduce the issues again without your files. Can you verify which versions or Revit, Twinmotion, and the Datasmith Exporter plugin for Revit you are using? Additionally, from your screenshot, I don't see any workflow issues that would clearly be causing this, but can you provide some reproduction steps for this issue (actions you've taken immediately before this issue started happening)? With that I can try to replicate this more precisely, but given the complexity of Datasmith issues, I may not be able to successfully reproduce this bug without a copy of the affected file.
I've finally submitted a bug report with files included. Different project that I am able to disclose. Both Revit and Twinmotion files are in attachment of the bug report.
The issue here is similar as before. Revit is synchronized to TM via Datasmith tab and appears in TM as a Direct Link. At one point my floor slab disappeared and it will not come to it's position back when I re-synchronize things.
I am an Architectural designer and I have faced the same issue as well. Some of my windows are misplaced in the middle of the scene. I thought maybe it can be because of the families I have created in Revit. However, some of them are in their correct place and only some of them aren't
