Diorama Cyberpunk project

This project is part of the Master in Videogame Art at UAschool. In this project, my intention is to create a Cyberpunk diorama.

This is the blocking in Maya taking different reference images into account. We have the main structure with a fountain on the lower level surrounded by columns, and on the upper part, some walkways with a hanging luminaire, which serves as the main light source.

Afterwards, I performed a blocking in Unreal to visualize the dimensions and subsequently update it as needed.

I used 7 different cameras to document the process of the various updates.

This week I focused on creating the column and researching the best way to make all the cables I’ll need in my scene. The next step would be to optimize the column and cables.

This is the first completed asset in terms of modeling. The texturing part is the first pass.

Hi there @Panchot951 ! Welcome to posting with us here on the forums!|

I love the cyberpunk concept that you’re making and your texturing is already looking great! Is the scene going to be a combination of inside and outside elements?

Hello @The_M0ss_Man, thank you for your comment. The diorama is completely outdoors, so yes, the idea is to work entirely with outdoor elements. Right now, I’m working on the lighting and other elements.

First lighting pass and placement of some Megascans elements to add to the story of the diorama. I also added a few decals to add more details on the columns and the floor.

I’m currently working on the fountain in the center.

This week I focused on finishing the installation of the lights and started modeling the central light fixture for the diorama. Additionally, I did the first pass of vertex paint on the diorama floor.

Hi there @Panchot951 !

Thanks for letting me know about the setting a little more and I apologize for the confusion on my end.

I also love the recent updates with the lighting that you’re showcasing so far! Yellow lighting in a Cyberpunk setting is one of the more fun to see in my opinion. Can’t wait to see more!

This week I started working on the section for the structure and walkways. I created four different modules to later position them and thus form the walkway. Additionally, I redesigned and adjusted the beam structure to make it more sensible and better fit for the position of the upper walkways.

This week I worked on restructuring the platform, which also involved modifying the position of various elements in the scene, as well as enlarging the area occupied by the entire diorama. Additionally, I finished texturing all the railings on the platform and completed the modeling of the hanging lights, as well as their texturing. The metal debris has a temporary texture.

This post is the conclusion of this project. Throughout it, many things have changed. I’ve added many elements and removed others.
