Diorama Circus

Hello, this is my diorama project. I chose to create an old-fashioned circus combined with a nighttime amusement park. My intention is to create a space that feels magical yet slightly unsettling. I want to work with exaggerated proportions and distorted architecture using realistic materials. My idea is for the modeling to be more stylized, while the textures and lighting will be more believable.

Well, I didn’t do much this week, just familiarize myself with Unreal Engine and try to find the style I want for modeling in this project

This week I focused mostly on work outside Unreal.
I’ve been sculpting, modeling and testing textures to define a consistent style for the scene.

I’m still improving the textures and overall look, but the direction is starting to take shape.

WIP

Hi! This week I focused on building the circus entrance area, modeling and texturing most of the key assets

Everything is still a work in progress, but the main composition is already set up in Unreal. I’ve started integrating the assets into the scene and doing initial material and lighting tests

The lighting is still very basic at this stage. My goal is to push it towards a more nighttime mood, especially since many of the assets include emissive elements that will play a big role in the final look.

I need to play around a bit more with the Unreal options to make everything look better integrated and visually appealing.

Hello, during the week I focused on making the largest assets that have lights to better test the lighting and its behavior in the scene. I adjusted shapes and details on existing models and was playing with the general composition to get closer to how I imagined it.

I’ve been experimenting with splines for the roller coaster that’s still in the works.

My goal this week is to finish the textures of the remaining assets, at the moment they are only with the base material, add small props, add more vegetation and I will make the terrain less empty.

The lighting still doesn’t convince me, so once I have everything I’ll play with it and the post process again.
