Hello everyone, today I want to tell you about the upcoming mobile game we are building now – Digital Animals.
Digital Animals is an exciting third-person puzzled adventure RPG game where you embark on a journey through different worlds. You can choose your own animal, imbued with a Soul, to traverse the expanses of this universe, complete mini-quests and solve puzzles.
The game is being developed by a small indie studio consisting of less than 15 both professionals and newcomers in the game development field, all eager to make their mark in the mobile gaming space. Digital Animals Game is our inaugural product, and we believe we have every chance to create something truly exceptional for all mobile device users.
One of our key objectives during the development phase is to share the game creation process in detail, allowing users to appreciate our dedication and the quality of the gaming product. Over the course of 3 months, we transitioned our development from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5. It’s a rather complex process, but our goal is to create an outstanding game with a rich narrative that resonates with players, rather than just occupying another spot in the marketplace for the sake of profit.
Available platforms: iOS / Android
Game Engine: Unreal Engine 5.3
We’ve been transitioning from UE 4 to UE 5.3 because we saw more advantages for mobile development in the next-gen engine:
- A well-tuned particle system for mobile devices thanks to Ribbon.
- WorldPartition automatically attaches objects to chunks.
- It’s easier to work on the world map, with fewer conflicts during part merging since it saves the object itself, not just the chunk.
- The flocking system and voxel plugin are operational.
- HLOD configuration is convenient with just one click, and despite some tool limitations, we found a way to create it.
- An undeniable advantage is higher image quality compared to UE4.
Additionally, support for UE4 ceased about a year ago, and developers are increasingly transitioning to the latest version. For us, it became essential to create our first game on UE 5.3. In the future, we will keep an eye on trends and updates to ensure our game product remains up-to-date and relevant for all players.
More information about the project is coming soon! Stay tuned for publications and our updates on this page.
