I’ve been messing around with Niagara Emitters (haven’t messed with Niagara Systems yet), and I’m trying to understand to core concepts of the renderer options (light, mesh, ribbon, sprite, etc.).
I played around with the dynamic beam’s default settings, and noticed “Spawn Burst Instantaneous” has a default “Spawn Count” of 100. I can’t see it if the spawn count is 1, it’s extremely thin at 2, and at 3 it’s finally visible (screenshots attached).
I must be missing some kind of fundamental knowledge and I don’t know what keywords to use in my search queries… (I’ve tried searching stuff like: “UE5 draw ribbons”, “UE5 ribbon fundamentals”, “UE5 how exactly do ribbons work in emitters”, “UE5 niagara emitter basic tutorial”, etc…)
My question is: how is a ribbon drawn in ue5? What exactly am I looking at?
ribbon Spawn Count = 1 (below)

ribbon Spawn Count = 2 (below)

ribbon Spawn Count = 3 (below)
