Differencer between MetaSound Source and MetaSound (UE5)

To me, it seems like the MetaSound Source is what you’re supposed to use to play sounds. The asset that is just called MetaSound is supposed to be a set of functions, as I understand it, that you put into other MetaSound Source?

Does this seem correct?

Has Epic said anything if both are going to be supported in the future?

You can’t call the Meta sound from the outside the MS environment so I’d agree with your summary. There’s a vid where Dan Reynolds refer to them as nodes but I’ve not seen any other mention of them.

Yeah, I use the regular MetaSound to basically create what is the equivalent to blueprint-functions where I collide a lot of nodes and put them in MetaSound Source. It’s a really smart way of working!
