What is the feature request?
I am requesting a brand new device for Fortnite Creative 1.0 called the Player Prop Attacher Device. This device lets creators securely attach in-game props directly onto a player.
How would it work?
- Object Selection: It uses the exact logic of the Prop Manipulator. You place the zone box around any gallery prop, and it highlights green to lock onto that object.
- Player Attachment: Once a prop is targeted, the device attaches that specific gallery item directly onto a player’s skeleton (e.g., placing a crown prop on their head, or a plushie prop on their back).
- VFX/SFX Integration: The device features built-in VFX spawning properties (similar to the VFX Spawner/Powerup). A localized visual effect or sound effect triggers directly at the player’s exact position the moment the item attaches.
Why is this needed for Creative 1.0?
Right now, Creative 1.0 creators have no code-free way to attach real world props or gallery items to a moving player’s body. Doing this currently requires UEFN mesh particles or advanced tools. Adding this device to Creative 1.0 would instantly allow creators to make custom cosmetic rewards, wearable quest items, functional backpacks, and interactive minigames using the thousands of pre-existing props already in the Fortnite Creative gallery.
