Detour crowd is a real hair-puller !

Hi all :wave: !

It’s been 2 weeks now that I’ve been tearing my hair out over the Detour Crowd. I already knew that it was not necessarily suitable for all situations but I still wanted to persist a little. So before jumping to a system D for avoidance (I don’t like RVO), I would like to ask you a few questions in case someone has had solutions on this all this time :face_with_monocle: :pray:.

I took the time to expose (from the source c++ class) what I think are the essential variables to control the Crowd Following Component (I did not manage to expose the AvoidanceQuality variable but I was able to test everything which is proposed as a choice).

It’s functional but no matter how many times I turn these settings around, nothing resolves the problem you see in the video below.

I tested all the variations of the MoveTo, every imaginable value of the Radius and Height Agents, all the capsule sizes as well as the parameters at the Project Settings level but no luck, nothing worked. So if anyone could shed some light on this, that would be great.
