Detecting if player's GPU is UE5 minimum requirement compatible?

Is there any way to detect if someone’s PC is compatible with UE5? (GTX1070 minimum requirement).

Hey there @Resolve! You can absolutely detect the GPU in C++ but you’ll also have to make your own definitions on minimum and the qualifications. Here’s a thread with some good info to pull that off!

i’m using a GTX 1070 8G, 64GB RAM 2400MHz and dual Xeon E5-2680v4 2.4GHz… No problem, UE5.2.1 is runing… you can do it

There are occasional deals to be had on Xeons, they get a second life and perform well. Assuming you got it used?

Ok, look, you can use libraries of windows/Linux/Mac to do it…

However only works in a unique OS…

So maybe you can look into the QT libraries (Portables)…
Or maybe you can use the libraries of CodeBlocks WX (Portables too)

Yes… I bought it very cheap in AliExpress. About €80 each processor. A Chinese HUANANZHI motherboard about 150E. The memory about €150… In total I spent about €1000… I’ve been using it for over a year and I haven’t had any problems.

And yes, I know, little by little I’ll add more RAM… I’m waiting for the price to drop a little more. Since DDR5 is already on the market, the price of DDR4 is going to plummet and then I will buy it.

Hence me asking for a first hand experience. The usual deal is they cannot maintain advertised turbo speeds for too long, not without a sophisticated cooling solution, and end up throttling. Had a Xeon once, an older one, though.

I do not know what to tell you. For me it’s luxurious.
The truth is that I have not paid much attention to it.

I like it because I can have a thousand programs running at the same time.

I can render video and have Unreal and Blender open and listen to music all at the same time and the PC like nothing happens.

I’ll see if I can do a Benchmark and I’ll show it to you

I don’t see that it exceeds 2.88 GHz… I don’t know what to do to put it more to the limit. What I do know is that the V4s cannot be overclocked. The V3 can be overclocked.

Benchmark says that in multithreading it is better than an i9 (and a thousand times cheaper)

I’d be chuffed, tbh. To go higher, you’d need to cool it better. This is Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 which applies to all cores. This is a great result considering the number of cores…
