Detecting if creature is in water, increase one of its stats

Hi, I’m adding a filter feeder to the game that eats plankton and other similar organic material. It is unfeedable via traditional methods such as meat or berries. To account for this, I have given it a high food stat that goes down slowly so that it can survive outside of water areas for a long time. Eventually players will need to “feed” it, so I want to make it so that its food stat replenishes when it is in water. My problem is that I am quite unsure of how to go about this. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Also, as a second, smaller question: is there a way to affect a creature’s ability to be grappled without adjusting the “mass” variable?

Thank you for your time!

You could just make a trigger volume for each area of plankton that increases creatures “food stat.” Or have the game check if the creature is currently in the water physics volume. You might try to see how filling the water bottles work.

I am not sure how to check if the creature is in the water physics volume.

For water bottles, their water content is considered “durability” as if it was a tool. They are filled by a tag in their blueprint which allows them to repair durability at water sources. This, unfortunately, does not apply to any creature tags.
