It seems the 4.11 version of “Desert_Outer_HDR” in Engine/MapTemplates/Sky is corrupt.
It’s corrupt on two machines. Even after verfiying engine content.
Repro: open Engine/MapTemplates/Sky/Desert_Outer_HDR and look at it

Hi btengelh,
From what I see between 4.10 and 4.11 they are exactly the same. Do you not see the same results as below?
Hi Tim, below the screenshot from 4.11.1. This is on TWO machines, and even after “Verfiy Content” in the launcher. Maybe something else is wrong? How would I find out?
The only different I see in yours from the image is it’s format is listed as BC6H and not FloatRGBA like it is on mine. I’ve attached a copy of my HDR version here if you wouldn’t mind just importing that and posting a screenshot like above again for reference. If it’s using BC6H it’s likely that something could be up with OpenGL if you’re not on a machine that can use DirectX11.
Can you also attach your DxDiag to this post?
If the attached file that I get you comes in the same way and not working correctly there is likely something in your DxDiag that may help me see what’s going on. If it does come in correctly, can you try uninstalling the editor and doing a fresh install to see if that resolves the issue?
I do not even have “FloatRGBA” as format listed
It’s not in my drop down either. It’s the imported format that it uses. Mine is just set to HDRCompressed (RGB, BC6H,DX11).
Can you please provide the other information I requested? Thank you!
Hi Tim, sorry for the late reply. I could import your provided file and it displayed fine. Its compression setting was set to “HDR” and it displayed fine. I then tried to switch the ‘corrupted’ file in the engine contents from “HDRCompressed” to “HDR” and - issue resolved, image is displayed properly. However, switching the file in the engine content back to HDRCompressed crashes the editor without any notice (I guess missing write rights). I can switch setting the other file in the project content folder without a problem. Switching to HDRCompressed causes the artifacts.
However, I can not explain how the compression settings of a file in the engine contents could have been switched on two machines. I attach the DxDiag from one machine in case you still want to have a look at it. Thank you for your help!
I’m not sure either here. I didn’t see anything that stood out in the DXDiag. either.
Thanks for letting me know what did resolve this for you and I’ll keep an eye out of this is reported by anyone else. At the present moment I’ve not been able to reproduce or see this issue on any other machines.
