Deselecting entire groups

I feel like I’m completely overlooking a very basic thing, but in UE4 I was able to just add and remove entire (locked) groups from the selection with Ctrl + LMB, a single click. In Unreal 5 when I have multiple actors or groups selected and I want to remove 1 group from the selection I can’t just Ctrl + click it. CTRL + LMB deselects a single actor within the group, not the entire group, even when it’s locked. Haven’t found any editor preferences for it yet either.

There’s a default keybind of Ctrl+Shift+G bound to “Allow Group Selection”, but this one confuses me a bit. It seems to behave the same as unlocking and locking a group, except without any feedback. It hides the red and green corner lines that are usually visible around a group.
