Depth Sensor> CloudCompare > RC - wierd angles on the lsp's

Hello all,

I’m trying to find a way to combine a scan (depth-sensor based, not laser) with photogrammetry in RC.

The scan would be produced with Skanect or RecFusion - therefore I would get a textured mesh (ply) - but not an RC compatible laser scan data to import (e57/ptx)

To get my scan into RC I could get it into CloudCompare, make a coloured cloud out of it, export as e57 and import using workflow>laser scan.

This stage seem to work.

(Before buying the scanner I want to test this method, so instead of a mesh generated with a scanner, I produced a ply mesh in RC itself)

After moving from CC to RC I now have 6 lsp’s, and those generate a nice point cloud when I align.

Here is the trouble - I cannot get images to align with this component.
I think It has to do with the angle of the virtual cameras in the lsp’s - they were placed inside the mesh, which gives a distorted (and flipped) view of it and that can’t be matched with anything in the images.

How are those angle defined? I think their overall structure is of a cube looking outwards…
Is it defined in the e57 file or made by RC during import? How can it be edited to a cube/circle looking inward?

*to be continued I guess…
