I use a lot of 2D Planes for VFX work and I’m having a hard time getting nice shallow depth of field with my camera actor. I think the issue lies with the fact that the static mesh with the media player material is translucent so when I set a shallow focus (1.4 aperture) on my camera actor and point it at the media player static mesh, the focus is never quite right. In the screenshot you can see that the top half of my plan is in focus but not the bottom.
I just solved my own issue, checking the “output velocity” checkbox under translucency in the material fixes the DOF and general z depth issue giving the translucent mesh more presence in the scene
