Hoping to get some help with troubleshooting this scene. When I add fog, mist or anything similar - you can see that the depth of field works on the face of the object, but the shape of the geometry still cuts through. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Is there a workaround within the engine?
You probably need to fiddle around with the focal distance. Seems that both the character and pillar are within the sharp focal range causing it to seem more visible.
It also could be that the pillar also starts before the fog begins to become visible so it’s not effected by it (is the fog’s near / start distance set to 0?).
It’s not a distance thing as the pillar is way more in the foreground - if you look at the left side without haze you can see that the depth of field is working as it should.
The issue is that I’m using fog cards, if I tuck them behind where the pillar is the shape always cuts out. I’ve moved the cards around and it will fix the issue - I just preferred the placement of where they were originally but I guess that’s the trade off.
